3 Tips to Infuse Life Balance Into Your Schedule
Spring and summer are right around the corner, meaning longer days with more sunshine, warmer weather, and more time outside. It is easy to get wrapped up in your day-to-day routine and often times we lose sight of things we want to do because of tasks we need to do.
Here are some tips to help you navigate the wants and needs to ensure you are making the most out of your time this spring and summer.
Plan and Prioritize
Try using the Eisenhower Matrix to help you decide what is urgent, what you can delegate, and what can wait. Set boundaries around work hours or school work to prevent burnout.
Be Flexible with Your Schedule
Flexibility allows you to make a change in your schedule without feeling overwhelmed or disappointed. You may want to grab a snack with a friend after work or shoot hoops after class- that’s okay! Give yourself a little freedom to be spontaneous and adapt to changing circumstances.
Schedule Down Time
You have been grinding it out at work and school, so allow yourself to recharge. Self-care and YOU-time should be a non-negotiable in your schedule. Whether exercising, baking, reading outside, going for a hike, meditating, getting a massage, or playing an instrument, it is important to add this time to your calendar to ensure it happens.
Be realistic about what you can accomplish each day. For each 2-3 tasks you accomplish on your Eisenhower Matrix, try incorporating one self-care activity to get you mentally and emotionally recharged.
Infusing balance into your schedule increases productivity, so remember to schedule time for you!
